You have just refuted yourself. New EVs will be a fraction of that for longer. Million mile EVs are likely to be the norm as they are much easier and cheaper to maintain than ICE vehicles. Battery costs drop in double digit percentage figures every year.
For example it costs more like $5k to replace a Tesla battery right now and even with that included maintenance costs are lower.
I don't understand why people get so passionate about this, this is basic economics. By 2025 EVs will be cheaper and better in almost every way than an ICE mass produced car.
No one will force you to change though, if you prefer to spend huge amounts of extra money on an inefficient, unreliable and environmentally unfriendly combustion vehicle then no one is going to stop you.
