You are mostly correct.

… the Allies. In fact, the major reason Germany lost the war was attacking Russia in the first place. If they hadn’t done so Germany would likely have kept Europe and also have taken Great Britain and held them for quite some time.
Americans often do the same to a lesser extent and not officially.

You are mostly correct. However Germany did not have the means to invade Britain and a more likely outcome would be an uneasy peace between a fascist Europe and a depleted Britain.
