Wishful thinking.

Disney Plus recently became the worlds biggest streamer. Some stats are for pandemic films which were predictably down. The latest Spider-Man and Dr Strange have done very well. The latest Star Wars and marvel tv series are powering Disney plus to the top.

Disney does well because it doesn’t make super hero hero films/series it makes a war film (like rogue 1) or a western (mandalorian) or a spy thriller (captain America 3) or a horror (dr strange 2) or a comedy (Thor 3) or a legal (she hulk) or a king fu film (Shang chi). It’s films and series therefore continue to feel fresh and remain popular.

It’s also come a long way since it’s racist and sexist ways. Is it there yet? No - we can see that it still panders to China as you pointed out. It’s a lot better than it was though with a much better portrayal of female and minority super heros in more recent MCU outings.

If you don’t like it then that’s fair enough. It’s your opinion and you are entitled to it. It’s mostly doing just fine though.
