This question seems to come up again and again with Russia, Pakistan, Indonesia and many South Americans and African countries. Is increased safety a price worth paying?

Sadly the answer seems no and the solution that is settled on sad in many ways. That solution (from my inexperienced perspective) seems to be that International Carriers need to scrub up while domestic ones in some countries can carry on saving money by cutting corners on safety and competence.

Perhaps this is part of the culture in many of these countries in which even with annual crashes it is safer and better for most peoples quality of life to board a cheap domestic plane than not to be able to at all.
