It will happen by the end of 2025, this is economic reality now. Everyone is not converting at once. People buying a new car in 2025/2026 will start buying EVs because they are cheaper to buy and run. They will charge them mostly at home or at work.

The grid will be fine, it will take a decade before all the old gas car owners finish the life cycle on their cars and buy EV, plenty of time to bing more power stations online and to smooth out the grid spikes using smart grids and battery electricity storage on grid.
