Good article. A shame though it was spoiled a bit by buying into the Russian propaganda that NATO caused this by expanding.

Regardless of whether they promised to or not expanding NATO and containing Russia is good for the world and using that as an excuse is like blaming a householder for promising to instal a burglar alarm instead of the thief.
